The Position

The Business Systems Technical Specialist will report directly into the Head of Business Systems and be tasked with the building, maintenance, enhancement, monitoring and support of our business applications and respective systems. You’ll be proving advanced technical support for Compass Group nominated Systems and other modules across all sectors of the business. You’ll also be responsible for Data Analysis, Systems Integrations and supporting Backend Surveys.

We’re looking for an individual who has superior technical knowledge and be someone who can happily work with minimal supervision but can contribute to the overall success of the team. You’ll be working in a busy, fast paced environment with interaction and exposure to a diverse range of stakeholders.

 Your duties will include, amongst others:

• Business Systems Tasks
• Identify & develop ideas for improvement in system functionalities
• Research, analyse & recommend new operational support technologies, tools & techniques
• Create technical/operational test plans for new software patches & releases
• As required, assist with test scenario use cases and test script prep & execution
• Integration Tasks
• Build data mapping & provide system integration
• Conduct technical requirement gathering for system integration with third party software

 Our Ideal Person

• Minimum Bachelor Degree in IT or equivalent experience
• Prior experience on implementing/supporting large retail offshore/remote operations
• Knowledge of SQL server database environment & SQL tools
• Experience developing SQL queries
• Proven background in working with Application systems, databases, data design, data modelling, and tuning methods
• A strong track record in integration development, maintenance & support
• Experience with all phases of Waterfall & Agile software development methodologies
• Strong interpersonal skills, customer centric attitude, ability to deal with cultural diversity
