Job Description:

We are looking for a Data Engineer (who also has the capabilities of a Data Scientist) to join a rapidly expanding team here in Perth, CBD.

This would be an initial 6 month contract with a view to extend. Also, we are seeking individuals who are available for an immediate start.

The team is going from strength to strength after recent wins with the business and showing huge cost savings by utilising core data, being able to accurately forecast issues, and predict spend within its maintenance division.

Now comes the fun part: rolling out a data analytics team across the whole business to show how data can be utilised better.
  
Required Experience:

• Experience implementing large-scale data loading, manipulation, exploration and cleansing.
• Experience in being responsible for the end-to-end data science execution including scoping, building, testing.
• Proven commercial experience in statistical and machine learning modelling, with experience manipulating and ‘making sense’ of big data from disparate systems.
• Experience in working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.

Required Skills:

• Advanced working knowledge of analytical programming: SQL, SAS, R or Python.
• Exposure to Big Data platforms, such as Hadoop and Spark.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse and disseminate significant amounts of information.
• Work as part of a fast-paced, and professional, team and workplace. 

Other Requirements:

• Tertiary qualified in relevant discipline (Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science).
• Data Science capabilities.

  
We require an individual who already has valid working rights in Australia, and who is ready to start immediately in Perth.
