Our client is an emerging cloud infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS), and platform as a service provider (PaaS). They are building a team in Brisbane to perform the software development and automation aspects of the business.
They require some additional personnel as they set up their offering, and are well funded to source technology professionals - with an attractive remuneration package that will include large bonuses and share options.
With that in mind, they seek a skilled Lead DevOps Engineer to be responsible for the automation team that is performing all tasks for the building and deployment of code and infrastructure. Aspects of the role includes:
DevOps lead
- Take ownership of DevOps processes and software environments.
- Master the DevOps processes and development pipeline, from development environments through to test, build, staging and production environments.
- Suggest and implement new strategies for optimising containerised infrastructure, including (but not limited to) continuous integration, release and deployment processes using cutting-edge container, virtualisation and automation techniques.
- Assist in the selection and implementation of DevOps tools that reliably manage software and environment delivery.
- Conduct performance tuning and capacity planning activities across all environment infrastructure.
- Automate developer operations and processes where possible.
- Advise and mentor engineers across the company.
Automation
- Develop, maintain and optimise automated deployment scripts for development, test and production environments.
- Design and assist in the setup and maintenance of the build / release infrastructure
- Implement and manage monitoring and health checks for infrastructure.
- Develop reusable, scalable, and testable automation scripts and tools for routine and repetitive tasks
- Contribute to productizing new and existing software by developing installation, deployment and management scripts.
Technical support and problem solving
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving development, test and production environments.
- Troubleshoot and expeditiously resolve escalated software and infrastructure related issues and challenges
Plse note you must be an Australian Citizen already to apply for this role.
You must have several years experience in a similar role, and be across Linux, Docker, and contemporary open source technologies. You must have skills in architecting secure, scalable and efficient environments. It is expected you will have experience with some scripting languages as well.

They will pay well, ranges will depend on what you are currently getting, but they can pay to $130k or $140k or so, plus bonuses plus provide some share options.
