POSITION SUMMARY / ROLE
The A Grade Electrician - Telecommunications undertakes the supervises the construction of communication sites internally. Prepares project schedules; qualifies and selects subcontractors and enforces and supervises all safety requirements with regard to ALL electrical works undertaken by the business. Monitors and directs the day-to day works of Connell Design & Construction Pty Ltd project staff and store with regard to electrical installation works
RESPONSIBILITIES, FUNCTIONS AND TASKS
•Directly responsible for the timely completion of all electrical works directed
•Directly responsible for the completion of all required electrical safety documentation to the Project Manager
•Delivery performance management to an individual site level for the overall Site Management and deliverables of the Telecommunications site works as issued in the project/program SOW.
This is inclusive of:
oElectrical installation works company wide
oTelecommunications Sites - Intermal Plant
oTelecommunications Sites - DC wiring / Alarm wiring. AC mains wiring testing and labelling.
oMonitoring and reporting on subcontractor performance with respect to progress and quality on a site-by-site basis to the Project Manager.
oDelivery of site documentation.
•Carry out inspections for the following:
oOHS&E Audits.
oFollow-up of defect rectification.
oReview of subcontractor internal site audits.
oAcceptance and ready for Integration.
•Direct liaison with Service Providers for clarification of technical standards and requirements.
EXPERIENCE
•At Least 5 years practical experience in leading role, preferably with interaction with outside plant/civil works.
•Technically capability in Telecommunications Site environment.
•Customer liaison.
REQUIRED SKILLS
•The ability to learn new tasks, share knowledge and undertake skills transfer with peers and/or subordinates.
•Quick decision making re technical solutions and provision of advice to Service Providers to expedite site builds.
•Act with autonomy and authority to resolve Service Provider technical and performance issues.
•Be a self starter and a motivator.
•Strong oral and written communication skills.
