SBS seeks an experienced front-end developer to join the team that develops SBS' digital network (www.sbs.com.au).
You will be joining a progressive organisation with a team of front-end, mobile, API and full stack developers as well as designers and UX experts. You will contribute as a highly autonomous front-end developer; with excellent coding skills in JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
About the role
The Front-end Developer will be responsible for creating user facing features, liasing with the UX/D team to bridge the gap between their graphical design and the technical implementation. You will be working closely with the engineering team to consume their API's as well as integrating applications and API's from third party providers.
- Ability to produce considered and well-crafted (testable) code
- Ability to work on a diverse range of projects and technologies
- Work collaboratively with the EDS team and other stakeholders
- Ability to work to task and deadlines
- Working on high profile events and products within the SBS digital ecosystem
- Work within an Agile team
About you
You will have 3+ years of front-end development experience, with an emphasis on the 3 key pillars HTML, CSS and JavaScript over arbitrary libraries and frameworks.
- HTML5, CSS3, SASS
- Vanilla javascript (ES2015+)
- Excellent understanding of Accessibility and W3C Standards
- Build processes and dependency management (Gulp, Browserify, etc)
- Source control with Git
- Mobile first, cross-browser responsive development
- Experience with Agile/Scrum projects
- Proactive and team oriented professional
What sets you apart from the rest
- Familiarity with JavaScript Libraries and Frameworks such as React.js, Angular.js, T3.js and others
- Familiarity with the TDD philosophy and unit testing
- Working knowledge of PHP, Symfony and Drupal highly desirable
- Good working understanding of HTML5 media API's
