Sydac has significant in-house capabilities in software development, 3D computer graphics, and electrical and mechanical engineering; and, our product portfolio covers the entire range of driver training simulation tools from Computer Based Training & Assessment modules, to Full Motion simulators that use the latest technology and unrivalled Computer Generated Imagery.

Due to business growth, the opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager with Technical Pre-Sales and Costing experience has become available.

About the role

Working in conjunction with our technical experts, and various key stakeholders within the business, the Technical Pre-Sales Executive will direct and prepare fully costed client proposals.

They will work with the Sydac engineering team to develop technical solutions to meet client tender requirements, and then develop and control complex costing spreadsheets in relation to each bid.

They will work with the Global Business Manager and other members of the Business Development team to prepare compelling, detailed Technical Commercial Proposals and supporting submissions to enable the company to continue to secure major new business within an exciting niche industry.

A collaborative approach and easy demeanor whilst working under pressure is required: As well as the ability to move diligently through the tender process with clients; often addressing novel requirements whilst working with company subject-matter experts to do so.

Experience Required

Essential attributes:

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • Comprehensive understanding of large and complex Excel spreadsheets
  • Demonstrated experience working as a part of a successful bid team on complex tenders
  • The ability to understand technical requirements and describe the proposed technical solution in a clear and concise manner.
  • Excellent written English skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to build strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external clients
  • The ability to interpret a client brief into an appropriately targeted bid, responding to all questions
  • Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Desired attributes:

  • Engineering and/or IT background
  • Project Management experience - especially large tenders
  • Ability to juggle multiple conflicting project deadlines
  • Consistently high attention to detail
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to obtain required information from colleagues in a timely manner

Education:

Tertiary qualifications in any of the below disciplines, or study towards attainment is desirable:
