As an Application Developer you will be responsible for delivering innovation, efficiency and improvements to applications. You will be involved throughout the development life cycle including application architecture, design input, application layout/UI, database design, and Android and iPhone app development.

Develop mobile and web applications with our rapid application development platform (Mendix), with a focus on a mix of legacy tool replacement and greenfield solutions. In addition to new product development you will be responsible for assisting with production-related issue resolution, identifying performance optimization opportunities and ongoing platform maintenance and testing.

As part of a busy environment, you must be able to self-manage your workload, work both autonomously and in collaboration with Business Analysts, other Developers, Architects, Business SMEs and external consultants.  While embracing agile development practices, we require robust and consistent development practices including documentation of specifications, system flow charts, data flow diagrams, application interfaces, and data mappings.

Our ideal candidate will have

• Exceptional understanding of mobile and web application development activities and concepts.
• 2+ years of recent hands-on coding and software design.
• 2+ years of experience with native application development (experience with both iOS or Android a plus)
• Use of HTML, JavaScript, CSS, SQL
• Conversant in API and web service architectures including JSON and REST favourable
• Demonstrated involvement in end-to-end application implementation or integration projects.
• Experience working within an agile team.
• Propensity to innovate and challenge the status quo.
• Adept at juggling multiple projects/tasks then prioritizing to deliver results in the face of competing business interests.
