This position is based in Sydney.

 

About the Opportunity:

The Technical Integration Lead is the Technical Architect (Systems Architect) for the Navy Synthetic Warfighting Centre (NSWC). The position provides technical leadership for all technical aspects of the NSWC Environment. This position reports to the Cubic Site Manager at NSWC. 

This position is only available to Australian citizens. Permanent Residents and working visa holders will not be considered, as the incumbent must hold a current Australian Defence Security Clearance at minimum NV1 level, with ability to upgrade to NV2.
 


 Essential:

  1. Knowledge and experience working with Military Tactical Management Systems (Naval Combat Management Systems, or Air Combat Management Systems, or Land Battle Management Systems)
  2. Understanding of Track Management Systems and principles
  3. qualifications in an Electrical/Electronic Engineering or  IT-related discipline (Degree, Diploma, or collection of Certificates),
  4. an understanding of IT service design principles with a basic understanding of ITIL service management practices and the ITIL service framework;
  5. Understand Systems Engineering principles particularly ISO/IEC 15288
  6. Ability to lead a team and take initiative with solution development and problem solving
  7. Ability to think in the higher level solution/architecture space as well as being competent and capable with finer technical details/issues
  8. work with minimal supervision, assist in the delivery of structured training systems and programmes, and deliver complex system support requirements
  9. Experience in producing high quality engineering and technical documentation
  10. Have team management/leadership skills and experience
  11. Have excellent written and verbal communication skills

     

Desirable

  1. Previous RAN experience as either:
    • senior Electrical Systems sailor (S-Rate or C rate)
    • senior CIS sailor
    • junior technical officer (WEO or RAAF/ARA equivalent)
  2. Background of systems administration and/or server engineering roles in either a:
    • UNIX / Linux environment,
    • Windows environment
  3. an understanding of PRINCE2, Agile or PMBOK project management methodologies.
  4. Understanding of JBUS, JSAF, DIS and HLA Systems and Concepts in the Simulation environment.
  5. Understanding of Track Management Systems and Engagement Sequences
  6. an awareness of the application and conduct of Defence training, training systems, exercise development, C4I systems including policies, standards and training outcomes assessment;
  7. Experience working with Tactical Data Link Systems (Link 11, Link 16, VMF)
  8. Familiarity with common IT systems/protocols including:
    • TCP/IP
    • Cisco networking (Routing and Switching)
    • Virtualisation
    • Databases
    • Sharepoint
