We are looking for an experienced, dynamically driven and proactive IT Support Engineer who can provide level 2 phone, email, remote and on-site support to our clients to work in our Sydney head office.

You must be capable of multi-tasking and working across a number of technologies and service offerings with knowledge in Data Centre systems, Telephony and Network Technologies

Duties Include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting and ticketing work with our 365/24/7 GNOC
  • Provide on-site, phone, email and remote support to existing clients.
  • Support, Migrate, Maintain Server environments.
  • Server and Desktop installations / Migrations.
  • Research, Test and Implement IT solutions.
  • Assist other Tech engineers and work in a team.
  • Assist / Project Manage migrations (this includes after hours / weekend work)
  • Participate in after hours On Call rotation with 4-hour onsite response

 

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Articulate and possessing excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Must have experience working in a Managed Service environment
  • Demonstrated experience in IT Networks and Data Centres
  • Understanding of systems and architectures
  • Demonstrated experience in Help Desk including break / fix
  • Effective and timely documentation skills
  • Effective Task and Time Management Skills
  • Be solution and outcome focused and willing to learn new technologies
  • Excellent communication skills with staff, clients and partners
  • Experience with SolarWinds N-able and N-central (MSP) highly
  • Experience with 3CX and Telephony highly desired

 

Required Technologies Experience

Minimum 2 to 4 years. Tertiary certification required, proven knowledge of the following

  • WS Operating system: Windows 7, 8, 10, Mac OSX.
  • Server OS: Windows Server 2008, 2008R2, 2012, 2012R2, Windows Small Business Server (SBS) 2008, 2011,
  • Virtualization technologies: VmWare and Microsoft Hyper-V
  • Mobile Devices:  iPhone, Android mobile devices
  • Mail Systems: ExchangeServer,2007,2010, 2013, SmarterMail; Office 365
  • Database Systems: SQL Server 2005/2008, My SQL
  • Thin Computing: Terminal Services & Remote Desktop Services
  • Web Servers: IIS 6/7, Linux Based Web Servers
  • Antivirus: Symantec, Trend Micro, AVG, Kaspersky
  • Backup: Symantec BackupExec, VEEAM,
  • Email backup and SPAM protection: Barracuda Networks
  • IP Telephony: 3CX, Patton, POE Switching, Cisco, Linksys and Yealink and Telephony Products
  • Network: Cisco Routers, Switches, VLANs
  • Security: Juniper and Cyberoam Firewalls, IDS/IPS, Content Filtering, Network Access Control.
  • Network monitoring: PRTG, MSP, Observium
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Report on network and infrastructure performance and write written reports for management. Competent in quality IT infrastructure documentation, environment, network diagrams, installation/configuration documents and release notes.
  • Supporting Line of Business Applications: Troubleshooting with hardware and software vendors.
  • System Management: Group Policies, Scripting, NTFS, WSUS, WDS, security permissions and access rights.
  • SOE: Desktop / Laptop Builds & Deployment.
