The role

Reporting to the Data Centre Operations Manager and Senior Hardware Co-ordinator, the Hardware Co-ordinator is responsible for the day to day management and operations of the raised floor physical infrastructure and environments within Coles data centres and related infrastructure under management around Australia.

To be successful, you’ll have:

  • technical knowledge of and experience with IT systems and management tools such as windows, linux and networking
  • advanced capabilities with access, excel, project and word software packages
  • experience in a data centre environment
  • verbal and written communications
  • strong interest and passion for data centres
  • basic systems engineering
  • facilities management
  • understanding of cabling and technologies

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • resolve problem records
  • support data centre environments
  • maintain computer room installations and de-installations
  • support asset management
  • reporting on key metrics and issues
  • maintain knowledge
  • monitor and manage systems related to the performance of the Hardware Co-ordination role
  • work with Coles support teams and skill groups regarding delivery of Hardware Co-ordination activities
  • identification of issues and problems in the Data Centres
  • assist support teams with installation and testing of new processes and integration into procedures
  • provide rostered on-call support
