The Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) is Australia's national platform for digital tourism information on Australia. Incorporated in 2001, it is jointly owned and managed by all Australian state/territory government tourism bodies.

The ATDW collects tourism content that includes more than 40,000 product and destination information listings nationwide. This content is compiled in a nationally agreed format and is electronically accessible by tourism business owners (operators), wholesalers, retailers and distributors for use in their websites and booking systems.

ABOUT YOUR ROLE:

We are seeking a Test Analyst to join our close-knit team to contribute to the ongoing testing and growth of our recently released software application product. This role is a maternity leave contract for 12 months.

On a day to day basis, you'll work with a range of stakeholders, end users and the product vendor to quality assure requirements, research problems, and provide customer support for our product database needs. You will have passion for IT and want to add value to our product and team through collaboration with other team members, vendors and stakeholders to implement best practice quality assurance and test lifecycle practices.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Prepare software test plans including defining estimates, scope, test levels, objectives and planning incident management.
  • Provide input to and analysis of requirements during the requirements analysis phase of projects.
  • Define test requirements and test cases for software testing and ensure traceability to specifications.
  • Facilitate input from Customer Groups, users and Distributor Stakeholders into the Product Development process
  • Perform functional, system, integration and performance testing.
  • Maintain software documentation and communications for each product release.
  • Document, implement, monitor, and enforce all processes and procedures for testing is established as per standards defined by the organization.
  • Track and report upon testing activities, including testing results, test case coverage, required resources, defects discovered and their severity and priority etc.
  • Attend Project Meetings, specification and design reviews and provide input from the Testers' perspective.
  • Provide and respond to customer technical support enquiries
  • Identify, triage and log product issues in the defect tracking tool identified for the project.
  • Assist in other areas of the ATDW operations team as needed.

IDEALLY YOU WOULD HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 3+ years of proven ability as quality assurance tester for web applications, API, cross browser and mobile devices.
  • Demonstrated software testing principles and experience in web and digital projects including exposure to Front end and Back end technologies such as AngularJS and Node.js and JSON & XML APIs.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills and the ability to interact with all level of stakeholders, support personnel, vendors and customers.
  • Analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills with a high degree of initiative and flexibility.
  • High organisational skills and ability to multi-task in order to meet demanding deadlines.
  • Experience with Atlassian test management tools including JIRA and Confluence.

THESE SKILLS WOULD ALSO BE NICE TO HAVE:

  • Experience with Agile software development methods.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Tourism Industry.
  • Strong work ethic, productivity and ability to work autonomously.
