The role is for a Java Senior Software Engineer, reporting to the software development manager in the US and developing the product for our client moving forward.Work for a great business with a strong product brand globally.
Responsibilities:
- Designing and implementing enhancements and new features
- Ongoing quality improvement for Engineering Applications
- Investigation, debugging and resolution of customer issues
This individual will help design back-end reporting systems and dashboards with large data sets
Required:
- Java/J2EE
- Data modeling experience
- Web Service technologies including protocols like: SOAP, JSON (similar to xml; new generation of structures which sends information back and forth), or REST
- Experience with Spring or Struts framework
- Experience working with Hibernate
- RDBMS (Relational database management system) skills including SQL
- Experience with development in multiple OS's (although the development of the product is done on a Windows platform, this individual will often need to debug in a customer's environment, and therefore multi OS development exposure is helpful)
- Cognos BI or other related technology (including: Datastage, Microstrategy, Informatica)
- Debugging complex issues
- Ability to communicate system architecture, specifications, and technical solutions verbally, face-to-face and in formal and informal documentation (may have as much as 20% customer interaction)
- Experience building data warehouse based applications
- Experience with software performance tuning and high volume data processing
