The Current Opportunity

Solution Architects - Cloud & Managed Services are trusted advisors who work closely with the National Corporate Sales Team, they collaborate with clients to understand business requirements, design architectures and deliver professional proposals.

The Solutions Architect will also have responsibility for solution design and in conjunction with the direct sales team will drive new business and cultivate relationships with clients and key decision makers to create new sales opportunities in Cloud & Managed Services.

As a Solution Architect - CMS, you will

  • Work with the sales team to define solutions to customer opportunities, including participating or leading scope of work determination;
  • Proactively build relationships with clients to be become a trusted advisor;
  • Present ideas in a language to suit the target audience
  • Qualify requests from sales to certify solution proposals are in line with existing product and service offerings;
  • Attend requirements gathering meetings with the customer and the sales representative;
  • Develop, design, document and deliver scope of works, hour/cost estimates, professional proposals that meets the customer's requirements;
  • Provide assistance on BigAir network solutions, product plans and roadmaps;
  • Work with the sales representative to finalise and present sales proposals;
  • Manage the pre-sales cases assigned to you in the queue and update as appropriate;
  • Build and maintain a thorough and up-to-date understanding of the BigAir / Superloop range of product offerings including their functions and applicability;
  • Understand our clients’ environments, business needs and provide expertise and consulting on the relevant solutions;
  • Coordinate hardware and software bills of material with account teams;
  • Ensure the the design is properly handed over to the provisioning team at the point of sale;
  • Conduct research into emerging technologies and trends, standards, and products;
  • Complete any other duties as directed

 

About you

The successful applicant will possess

  • An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Telecommunication and/or related field/s.
  • ICT business sales background, with proven experience in IT infrastructure planning and development.
  • Strong experience with gathering client requirements and analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of systems design principles, requirements specifications, standards development and practices.
  • An ability to understand customer problems and apply logic to define potential outcomes.
  • Strong technical knowledge of VMWare and Microsoft environments.
  • Solid knowledge of our major key vendor solutions (Microsoft, VMWare, Citrix, Zirto and HP).
  • An excellent understanding of current and emerging cloud technologies.
  • Good knowledge of security concepts and implementation of risk mitigation methods.
  • The highest level of professionalism, customer service and relationship building skills when interacting with clients, vendors and internal staff.
  • Motivation and capability to mentor other team members, particularly at a technical level.
  • An understanding of the ITIL framework including Incident, Problem and Change management.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to empathise and tailor language to the audience.
  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
  • An ability to prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
