The Opportunity

The internal platforms team manages systems supporting the corporate systems and delivery of voice and data products.

You will be responsible for: 

• Building and managing servers
• Ensuring uptime and availability of underlying IT systems
• Managing upgrades and improvements of IT Infrastructure

Technical skill you will need for the role:

• Debian, Centos
• Database Servers - MySQL, PostgreSQL
• Linux Hypervisors and Virtualisation, containerization technologies
• Scripting & Automation - Bash, other scripting languages of choice
• Monitoring - Nagios, Icinga
• Configuration Management - Puppet or similar
• Application Servers - nginx, uwsgi
• System Security
• Performance monitoring and tuning, capacity management

About You

To succeed in this role you will need:

• Demonstrated (5+ years) commercial experience
• Passion for automation and learning new technologies
• Experience managing the delivery of technical projects to internal customers
• Highly developed communication skills
• Level headed, logical thinker with a 'can-do' attitude
• Ability to work as a team player, mentoring junior talent and share knowledge
• Able to manage prioritisation of individual workload and project requirements
• Some out of hours work from time to time as required by work activities
• Experience with customer facing, highly available systems
