We are seeking an experienced and passionate Pre-Sales Technical Consultant to join our market leading team. Based in Sydney, you will have experience in business consulting and be able to conceptualize solutions, build a product roadmap and in turn a technical architecture to solve the customers' business issue.

You will be able to lead a team of people and be able to layout an approach including being able to accurately scope and work with a project manager to cost and manage resourcing for the given project within a client. This is a key role in our Sydney Services business. You will work closely with the Lead Architect and NSW Delivery Manager across our clients.

Your mission

• Understand the client's business context and the challenges they face
• Conceptualize and document technology solution architectures
• Produce API strategy and API specs through Swagger file definition, RAML 1.0 spec, JSON Schema etc.
• Produce architectural models and presentations to both business and technology key stakeholders
• Provide technical leadership and thought leadership on the proposed solution to ensure a quality outcome for our clients
• Assist and lead the development of applications
• Continuously improve on standards and enable best practice in the day to day activities and deliverables of the team
• Establish credibility with the client with the objective of becoming a strategic trusted advisor to guide them through challenges that they face
• Provide guidance and promote the sharing of knowledge across clients and internal teams
• Help promote and instil a culture of innovation, leading by example
• Work with new and existing clients to uncover service opportunities to grow opportunity pipeline
• Comfortable to present to clients and at industry conferences and events
• Promote your ideas through blogs
• Strong DevOps capability around building CI/CD pipelines and managing cloud infrastructure
• Infrastructure architecture inclusive of firewalls, networking, data storage, data centre etc. is essential
• Security architecture inclusive of infrastructure security, API security, physical location security
• Security paradigms like JWT, OAuth2.0, CAS Server integration, SAML etc. using spring security framework or equivalent.

Your background

• Strong technology background with the ability to get into the detail where needed
• Flexible mindset with an adaptive approach in working with multiple client environments
• Demonstrated experience in using a service orientated or microservice architecture approach to architecting technology solutions
• Demonstrated experience in applying serverless architecture principles, in particular through AWS.
• Experience in technologies
  • Java7/8
  • JavaScript, Node.js
  • Experience with Scalability, High Availability, and Microservices
  • Unix/Linux
  • Experience building Web Services and API's using REST
  • Solid software engineering best practices (coding standards, code reviews and test driven development)
  • Exposure with OAuth, SAML
  • Scrum and Agile Development methodologies is a must
  • Spring Boot and Hibernate
  • Exposure to ElasticSearch
  • Solid experience with AWS and NoSQL
  • Docker
  • Experience in software architecture modelling
  • Conceptual, logical and physical software architectures
  • BPMN modelling
• A strong written and verbal communicator
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team
