Who we are? 

Headquartered in Cheltenham, APT Travel Group is a 90 year old, family owned, independently operated business that encompasses an extensive portfolio of luxury touring and cruising brands. We have about 700 team members (season dependent) spread over 8 countries. You will join a team of 6, working with the likes of designers, product peeps and other developers, who are energised, supportive and love getting involved in a bit of banter.

Tell me about the role?

This is a pretty awesome gig and I’ll tell you why. Firstly it’s a new role, which means for an experienced FE Developer it’s a chance to gain quick wins whilst making a fundamental positive impact. Secondly you get to influence and develop the technical design and implementation of numerous digital projects, think multi-channel web apps, Chatbots and cool tech. The cherry? You’re coming in to develop the technical and aesthetic direction of our front end interfaces to maximise audience engagement and deliver the best possible customer experience for users. Of course there’s the BAU as well.

The right person for this?

You’ll have been around for a while either consulting, working for a digital agency, perhaps even working as FE dev in the retail sector. JQuery, Bootstrap, React and NPM are languages that you live in as is GIT/SVN. You’ll be a gun with Sitecore, large scale SASS applications and responsive design approaches; whilst having mastered the art of identifying quick wins versus labour intensive tasks to set realistic expectations with stakeholders. On that note, you’ll influence key stakeholders and beyond to get sh*t done, be comfortable challenging the status quo when needed and phenomenal at bouncing between technical and non-technical language, depending on your audience. The successful candidate will have smashed out some complex projects, have amazing communicative skills and understand the importance of people in this role. Having worked in an agile environment will be a snazzy addition.
