About the role:
RAA’s Application team work to develop and maintain a broad understanding of business process and information needs across enterprise wide applications. They support how configuration can be efficiently & effectively changed or utilised to meet the identified needs.
This role will focus on the configuration of the Insurance Systems Rating Engine, which is used to determine members’ ratings.
Responsibilities:
• Deliver functionality by developing and maintaining business relationships to understand how the business utilise the application
• Develop new, and modify/maintain existing, applications configuration, workflows and rules engines as required
• Maintain an effective and efficient change request process for applications configuration, workflows and rules engines
• Provide 2nd level fault analysis, incident and problem management on applications configuration, workflows and rules engines, escalating where appropriate
• Coordinate vendor fault rectification as required
• Perform appropriate testing to ensure timely and quality outcomes in accordance with relevant standards
• Critically examine, document and suggest improvements to applications and change to increase application performance and effectiveness to the business
What you need:
• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Information Systems, Software Engineering or similar
• Experience in a similar role, and a demonstrable understanding of application development standards & methodology, including the software delivery life cycle
• Demonstrated knowledge of Release management principles, processes and tools;
• Demonstrated knowledge of change control, quality control and version control principles.
• Demonstrated knowledge of:
- Insurance industry application knowledge (desirable)
- Microsoft Server environments and services (desirable)
- Large commercial system configuration (desirable)
- Microsoft Office Programs (mandatory)
