Who are we?

iZone is a Perth based tech company located in Bibra Lake. We design, develop and manufacture electronic controls for Smart Homes. This includes air conditioning, lighting, power, irrigation, security and entertainment.

Our product development team needs an in-house App / software guru to develop our iOS and Android apps as well as our cloud-based server and other interfaces.

The role 

• You will be responsible for building complex Apps for iOS and Android environments on both mobile and tablet. These Apps will engage customers and work seamlessly with the devices and systems they are controlling.
• You will setup and maintain our AWS using MQTT protocols to communicate with iZone systems in our customers’ homes and offices.
• You will develop interfaces with iZone products to other technologies such as Apple Home Kit, Google Home and other home automation platforms
• You will conduct unit testing and will understand Test Automation and Agile software development principles
• Ensure the quality, consistency and timeliness of application development work within project schedules.
• Responsible for staying up-to-date on emerging technologies and promoting usability best practices.
• Ensure the technical feasibility of developments and proposed changes to products.
• You will produce, review and document standards-based, high-quality, optimized code.

Skills, qualifications and experience you will require

• A bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
• 4+ years full – time, Professional experience building applications for iOS and Android.
• You will have at least one application published on iTunes App store and one application on Google Play Store. Please include a link to each published App.
• Proficiency with Android/iOS SDKs as well as up-to-date with most modern Android/iOS development practices
• Familiarity with JSON based APIs
• Ability to support both current and past versions of iOS and Android.
• Experience building cloud solutions on AWS using MQTT protocols, or similar.
• Have a real passion for clean, scalable code and learning new languages, frameworks and tools

• This is a full-time role based in Bibra Lake, Perth, Western Australia
• You must be an Australian Citizen or hold a current Australian Permanent Residency Visa.  No exceptions.
