Solution Architect contract for a modernisation project working across infrastructure and application domains.
Your new company
This Federal Government Agency located in Campbell, Canberra, has received good funding in the budget and is looking to add an experienced Solution Architect. This capital investment will allow them to upgrade and restructure the core ICT environment, with the key aims of upgrading and restructuring its outdated and highly customised information, communication and technology (ICT) systems.
Due to enhanced security requirements, you must be able to obtain and maintain a Baseline level security clearance.
Your new role
You must be comfortable dealing with ambiguity, be able to create structure in an unstructured environment and explain the business and technical benefits of optional solutions. You will have a talent for working with stakeholders to understand business needs, translate them into application and infrastructure solutions supported by persuasive business cases.
The outcome will improve cost effectiveness, operational flexibility, and management efficiency through a simplified and sustainable technology platform.
What you'll need to succeed
The Solution Architect will bring a wide range of experience, knowledge and skills to the role, including, but not limited to:
- excellent oral and written communications skills and strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work with internal staff and external vendors;
- demonstrated ability to work with internal stakeholders to understand and prioritise business requirements and to identify and articulate relevant infrastructure and software solutions;
- experience with application workload assessment and migration planning; and
- experience with, and ability to contribute to market testing activities (e.g. tender development, response assessment etc.).
