Application Security Architecture & Design – Senior Leader – Australian Financial Institution

One of Australia’s largest Financial Institutions is looking for a senior leader to manage the Application Security Architecture and Design team.   A proven people leader, you will assist with the vision and strategy of the team. The successful candidate will be familiar with agile and its problem spaces for security.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Manage and run the security architecture & design practice in your area. This practice is responsible for securing the banks application space in alignment with standards and policies

·          Perform line management of a team of senior managers - coach and mentor this team to foster growth

·          Act as a final escalation point for each of your teams and platforms in your remit

·          Drive process improvements both in the security architecture & design space and with the interactions with the platforms specific to applications

·          Represent the entire security group/security architecture and design team in other forums as required

·          Act as a role model by consistently displaying leadership behaviour that encourages productive working relationships and a strong performance culture, as well as an open, creative, and innovative approach to architecture

Skills and Experience:

·          5 or more years’ in a cyber security role (Direct Security Architecture, Security Design or Application security experience)

·          Strong technical experience and subject matter expert (SME) for two or more security domains including extensive application security

·          Experience with development of security strategies within risk appetite

·          Experience with security consulting and stakeholder management

·          Industry certifications e.g. SABSA, CISM, CISSP and SANS

·          Influencing skills with and without direct authority

·          Experience in heavily governed and regulated environments
