Speedcast is undergoing the delivery of a pioneering project to deliver a national Enterprise Satellite Service using nbn's SkyMuster satellites. As part of our responsibilities we are charged with developing and documenting processes to support the wholesale managed services, system support and VNO relationships.

Key Area of Responsibility:

• Management and monitoring of all aspects of operational IT support and supporting infrastructure
• Establish and manage operational procedures to ensure service delivery outcomes are achieved
• Vendor Management / Supplier Relationship Management for operational services that ensure performance is aligned to SLA’s
• Provide senior technical advice to projects on most appropriate use of infrastructure, technical architecture and specialist resource requirements
• Backup and maintain configuration of all infrastructure on a routine basis
• Fail-over and Disaster recovery management
• Define, Implement, Apply and manage security policies for domain, computers and servers as per ISO27001 standard
• Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering and Operations

Academic Qualifications 

• Degree holder in IT, Computer Science or other related disciplines

Relevant Experience

• Typically not less than 8 years’ experience 

Technical Know How

• Extensive experience in management and support of the Vmware environment
• Experience with Veeam, F5, SQL Server Administration, RSA, Active Directory and Symantec is a requisite.
• Experience with Splunk and Suricata is essential
• Experience with Fortinet, Cisco and Juniper Networks is essential

Skills and competencies

• Exposure to ITIL practices is desirable
• Having NV1 Clearance is desirable
• Familiarity with ISO27001 is desirable
• Face to face communication skills are critical to the role
• Analytical thinking and aptitude for problem solving. Must have a root cause analysis mindset
• Ability to prioritize and manage workload based on varying priorities
• Inquisitive and intelligent, always searching for the reasons behind the context
• Motivated to deliver high quality results with a "can do" attitude
• Excellent written communication skills
• Team player who is able to step up and take the lead when it is required
