SECURITY RELEASE ENGINEER

Job overview:

• The role holder will be responsible for supporting the System Engineering and Delivery of Security products and solutions for both our client and its customers clients globally to time, cost and quality.
• The Cyber Release Engineer is focused on the creation and ongoing operation of a highly automated release engineering environment.
• The role holder will be responsible for the creation of production ready artefacts leveraging the automated release engineering environment and ensuring that they are available for global delivery teams.
• The Cyber Release Engineer will work alongside developers and testers to assist with promoting code through to releasable artefacts and additionally will liaise with delivery teams to further validate the quality of the released artefacts.
• The role holder will leverage his existing DevOps and continuous delivery skills and apply them to bleeding edge cyber security technologies at a global scale.
• Assist with further developing the capabilities of our client’s principal advanced security platforms and offerings.
• To provide analytical and innovative input to projects.
• Design, build and maintain continuous delivery capability across a wide range of technologies.
• Assess platform requirements and provide recommendations on how to optimise use of available infrastructure.
• Provide assistance with deploying capabilities into customer environments based on continuous delivery methodologies.
• Looking for opportunities to optimise the release engineering and continuous delivery frameworks.
• Promoting builds across multiple development, test, staging and production environments.
• Assist with creating the test data required to exercise various components.

Job requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent with at around 5 years of relevant hands-on professional experience on release engineering
• Expertise in Infrastructure technologies with hands-on experience in high availability cluster solutions using Redhat, Sun/Oracle, and Veritas with UNIX/Linux Administration experience. Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools
• Extensive experience with continuous delivery environments (ie Jenkins, Docker)
• Expertise in evaluating new technologies and technical products in the context of business needs, established reference architecture, software packages, installation/configuration, environment provisioning with high available and load balancing features
• Ability to code and script using any or more of the following: Shell, Python or Bash.  Strong grasp of automation tools
• Experience with systems and IT operations
• Comfort with frequent, incremental code testing and deployment
• Delivery focused, hands-on, data driven, detail oriented approach with clear accountability for performance and execution is required.
• Comfort with collaboration, open communication and reaching across functional borders
