Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced LMS Specialist to drive our upcoming migration from Totara to Canvas. With a solid understanding of LMS systems, you will use your experience to encourage and drive adoption of Canvas. Further to this, you will have an understanding of learning & design curriculums and a natural ability to migrate content in a way that enhances the learning experience.

Core Responsibilities 

  • Proactive participation in the development of the Moodle to Canvas Migration Project plan

  • Migration of all course materials (documents, multimedia, assessment instruments)  to Canvas

  • Validation of all functionalities and ensuring consistency between old and new sites

  • Test SIS integrations before deployment

  • Testing authentication before and after deployment  

  • Testing of all settings and configurations prior to going live

  • Assistance with developing and conducting Canvas training sessions for academic faculty and staff.

Key Competencies & Requirements

  • Demonstrated Canvas experience

  • Experience in instructional design & course content migration

  • Experience with Canvas features and 3rd party apps

  • Strong IT background and technical knowledge and experience with HTML, CSS, Javascript and website administration

  • Ability to work in a team as well as independently

  • The ability to work under pressure and be adaptable to achieve deadlines within a highly dynamic project environment

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and work collaboratively with all staff

  • Excellent communication & presentation skills.
