Green Light require a software asset manager. Permanent role with a salary of approx. $80K per annum.

Role Overview and Objectives:

The Software Asset Manager will provide software asset management (SAM) expertise to deliver onsite a Managed SAM Service to Datacom’s customers. The SAM specialist will have the ability to champion the delivery of the managed service and processes, provide quality customer service enhancements in optimising the service.

In this role you will work collaboratively with the National SAM Consultants, SAM Analysts, and Software Licensing Consultants delivering the service.

The core objectives and responsibilities of the Software Asset Manager include:

1. Act as SAM Subject Matter Expert for the delivery team on the account

2. Ensure effective and smooth delivery of our customer’s SAM solutions

3. Contribute to the achievement of the outcomes of the contract

4. Support the Business Operation Process

Role Responsibilities:

The Software Asset Management (SAM) Consultant is responsible for (but not limited to):

• Provide quality customer service through adherence to Datacom’s Asset Management Solution’s service delivery methodology and processes

• Ensure that SAM plans, processes and procedures are developed incorporating good practise methodologies, accurately documented, successfully implemented, appropriately communicated to customer’s stakeholders, and provide continuous SAM optimised solutions for organisations

• Ensure the responsibility for managing the customer’s software lifecycle. This includes identifying the software, capturing the license entitlement, ongoing software compliance checks and reviews, to remediate as appropriate, and facilitate software procurement. Manage, maintain and facilitate the renewal of software maintenance by validating the renewal details to ensure the information is correct and valid and update the Software Asset Register with the new details.

• Facilitate software procurement for the account including the tasks of retrieving quotes from software vendors, approval from the business and facilitating the procurement and associated software lifecycle tasks

• Review current software Terms and Conditions, License Agreements and License Contracts to ensure that the account is not exposed to any breaches or risks

• Perform SAM Deployment Planning: provide deployment expertise for processes and technologies to support key SAM areas, including deployment, metering, inventory and control. Special focus on solutions deploying Microsoft technologies including System Centre, MDOP AIS, or MAP License discovery reports

• Understand the SAM management technologies and their capabilities license Dashboard, IBM Big Fix, Flexera and SNOW software

• Interpret the data outputs from the SAM management technologies and provide accurate reporting

• Conduct SAM Compliance Checks: includes ascertaining inventory of deployed software assets, review of corresponding customer license entitlement documentation, virtual, hosted, or cloud-based licensing, and identification of any opportunities for license optimisation

• Timely and accurate communication of customer’s software license compliance positions including inventory data and software license entitlement details including licensing contracts

• Liaise with service management, transition and customer teams to implement SAM processes, procedures, plans and controls to ensure appropriate software asset details are recorded and maintained

• Reporting - responsible for ensuring that reporting is delivered within agreed timeframes e.g.; o Software Deployment Baseline report o Effective License Position (ELP) report o Metering (Software Usage) report o Process Services Status report

o Licensing compliance reports for Managed SAM services

o Project Status Reports (PSR)s

o SAM Recommendation reports

o Customer SAM specific reports

• Work with the national SAM team to assist with the development of the SAM adoption plan

• Manage the process for the signing of any customer acknowledgement form as directed by the National Manager, Asset Management Solutions

• Attend customer delivery meetings

• Deliver presentations and SAM reporting to all levels of management.

• Ensure SAM related issues are escalated to the National Manager, Asset Management Solutions

• Undertake required software licensing and SAM training certifications as required

• The Software Asset Manager will provide SAM delivery activities across Datacom’s Core Service customers

The Software Asset Manager will build relationships with the following:

• National SAM consultants

• National SAM Analyst

• Licensing BDMs

• Vendors and Distributors

• Customers at both Business and IT Management Levels

• Technical Team Leads/Supervisors
