Tectonica is a developer of cutting edge technology and products for global Defence and Law Enforcement customers. It has a proven track-record in collaborating with universities and other organisations aimed at delivering innovative solutions to meet the capability challenges of the future.
A new role has been created for a Systems Administrator to manage Tectonica's ICT Systems on a permanent part-time basis (24 hours per week). The role reports directly to the Services Manager.
The Systems Administrator is responsible for:
Maintaining the company server and client computers:
- Install updates and licence upgrades on the server
- Perform daily and monthly backups (maintain a tape backup regime)
- Maintain server security certificates and install/upgrade as required.
- Maintain the Active Directory database – add/remove users as appropriate.
- Maintain the Exchange email system
Maintaining M1 (ERP System)
- Modify and customise M1, create and maintain new reports, maintain user delegations and backups, provide training as required
Maintaining the OpenKM Document Management System
- Maintain OpenKM Document Management System, working with technicians out of hours to resolve technical issues and providing training as required
Maintaining Tectonica Cyber protection systems
- Ensure that updates are applied to the firewall and that virus definitions are up to date.
- Maintain software licences, ensuring software is legitimate and appropriately licenced. Conduct audits and reviews as required
- Ensure the server antivirus software and malware is implemented and maintained
- Report potential security threats to management and implement processes promptly
- Maintain Wi-Fi network
- Specify new hardware and build computers for new users as required.
- Maintain Virtual Images of all critical computer systems.
- Maintain the PABX and telephone systems.
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate shall possess the following:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong troubleshooting, server administration and network administration skills
- Hand-on experience with computer network, network administration and network installation
- Knowledge of and/or experience with SQL and Crystal reports
- Ability to handle multiple demands, prioritise work and handle pressure to resolve issues in a timely manner
- A degree or tertiary qualification in Information Technology
- At least 3 years professional experience, with demonstrated experience as a Systems Administrator
- Australian citizenship or permit to work in Australia
- Experience in the Defence industry would be advantageous

Due to the support nature of this role, some hours will be need to be completed after business hours, to minimise disruption to business operations and staff access.
