Responsibilities
- Design and code changes to enhance the AbInitio data sourcing framework.
- Carry out duties in accordance with the relevant operational processes, application development processes, incident and change management procedures.
- Maintain documentation on technical details about the system.
- Analyse proposed changes to determine operational impact; assist project teams with integration and testing requirements;
- Identify opportunities for improvements in process or system performance and diligently follow up to implement.
- Work within a team environment and work independently as appropriate to complete tasks; work across Enterprise Services and understand the end to end implications (ETL, GDW, Reporting) of application implementations.
- Assist in identifying improvements to project, system release and department administration processes; support these processes by attending project and user meetings, including but not limited to regular “Production Support User Group” forums.
- Build an effective working relationship with all customer business areas to facilitate consistent win / win situations and outcomes.
- Facilitate the review and sign-off process for all relevant application and environment change documentation and ensure both are conducted as per scheduled deadlines.
- Work at all times to provide superior levels of customer service
Experience
Essential
- Sound understanding of AbInitio principles.
- 5+ years of hands-on expertise in writing, debugging ABInitio graphs.
- 2+ years of hands-on expertise using GDE 3.3+, EME, BRE, Express>IT.
- 5+ years of hands-on expertise using Unix, SQL scripting on Oracle/Teradata databases.
- Hands-on expertise in handling large volumes of data in Oracle databases and SAS datasets.
- Experience using source version controls, CI/CD tool sets.
- Experience working in technology enabled programs and projects.
- Experience working in SDLC, Waterfall/Agile methodologies.
Desirable
- Experience in supporting SAS mid-tier components
- Experience in SAS ARM macros, any enterprise class automation/scheduling tools
