They require a Level 3 Senior Engineer to deliver Service Help Desk and Incident Management activities.

The Role

  • Design and develop policies and standards for systems installation, implementation and handover activities.
  • Advise and guide others on all aspects of systems installation, implementation design activities and handover activities, including best practice.
  • Assist in the authorisation of contracts, decisions, actions and approaches in systems installation, implementation and handover assignments.
  • Recommend actions to improve the effectiveness and quality of systems installation, implementation and handover activities within an organisation.
  • Select appropriate progress checkpoints and decision points, backout criteria and plans to be used during systems installation, implementation and handover activities.
  • Negotiate effectively and tactfully with users, sponsors, stakeholders and external bodies on actions required as a result of systems installation, implementation and handover activities.
  • Make appropriate and timely decisions on the actions required in the event of systems installation, implementation and handover activities not meeting the business needs.
  • Review and improve the alignment of systems installation, implementation and handover activities with all relevant legislation, regulations and standards.
  • Routinely monitor the quality and effectiveness of 'end to end' system/solution/service design activities and their deliverables, identifying what actions may be taken in the event of them not supporting the business needs, service requirements, and IT technology analysis and design deliverables.
  • Be fully accountable for the quality and effectiveness of any logical and physical 'end to end' system/solution/service design deliverables and activities, and their alignment with business and service requirements and architecture analysis and design deliverables.
  • Monitor the quality and effectiveness of external providers of system/solution/service design services, identifying and recommending action where appropriate.
Experience required:
 
  • 7 years’ experience in a relevant technical role providing desktop, server and network support.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server 2008, SBS 2011/2008 and 2012 including user account management in Active Directory.
  • Experience with implementing Microsoft Cloud Projects and Office 365
  • Networking –ability to audit, deploy, troubleshoot a diverse range of networking technologies
  • Associate Degree or higher OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • MCSA and MCSE Microsoft Certified
  • ITIL and VMware Certification
Expert technical skills in service, support and deployment of:
  • Microsoft desktop environments (Windows 8 & 7) and associated business applications.
  • Desktop Applications – Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Server Applications –Administration of Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL Server, Office 365, SharePoint, Lync
  • Hardware –Desktop, laptop, server and network hardware. Familiarity with mobile devices.
