Path Network is seeking a DevOps Engineer or Site Reliability Engineer to join our Engineering team, who would thrive in a company with a strong engineering-focused environment. Your role within the company is to both assist with building out new technology and maintaining our production systems, mainly focusing on our Kafka platform which runs within Kubernetes. Our language stack consists of Java 8, Scala, NodeJS, Elixir/Erlang, C++, Python, GoLang.

This role would suit an engineer with a strong background in Availability Engineering, Performance Engineering, At-scale Distributed Systems Design & Engineering, Production Support, Infrastructure Automation and Tool Development.

Required experience

- Kafka (Strong operational / monitoring experience with Kafka clusters of the following components: Brokers, Zookeeper, Kafka Connect, REST Proxy)
- Experience servicing 3+ broker Kafka clusters in production
- Operational experience with Kafka Streams applications
- Kubernetes (Production experience)
- AWS
- Programming / Scripting
- CI/CD (Jenkins, Groovy Pipelines )
- Strong Linux skills
- Clustering, Networking, Disaster Recovery, Hot components failover

Ideal / Highly Advantageous

- The desire to learn and upskill
- Strong experience ensuring the resiliency of high-scale cloud-native applications built upon DynamoDB, AWS Lambda, API Gateway, AppSync, Redshift, S3
- Systems Design
- Distributed Systems Architecture
- Concurrency (3M+ clients connected in off-peak periods)
- Big Data engineering
- Network Engineering / Administration (TCP/IP, BGP, GRE, DDoS)
- NetDevOps Experience (Network Infrastructure Automation)
