Who We Are

Little Geniuses is an established Kindy- HSC coaching centre located in Sydney, aiming to launch a new online school in 2018. The online school, which is currently in development, will be a one stop shop for educational resources, where students will have access to hundreds and thousands of comical, fun and educational learning materials.

Following a whiteboard animation style, the site will feature videos approximately 3-5 minutes long and feature hand-rendered, distinguishable, simple graphics brought to life using Adobe Illustrator, exported as SVG files for animation. From teaching the plots of Shakespearean classics, to explaining the reason for the Earth’s rotation around the sun, and everything in between, we want to bring lessons to life for all grades. This is a wonderful opportunity to be at the forefront of an innovative new online business, that aims to eventually reach students across the globe.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for an Illustrator for an ongoing role in developing the images for our video content, and a logo for the online business. You will ideally have a tertiary qualification or equal certificate, and extensive samples of your work which demonstrate your ability to illustrate accordingly to set briefs in a range of styles. This is a great opportunity for you to unleash your creative flare with endless hours of work (as we have endless books/material (Including Maths and Science for syllabus from Kindy to Yr 12 ) to create and potential to become an ongoing part of this exciting new business venture.

Experienced Illustrators and University students majoring in illustration or visual arts are also encouraged to apply. If you show potential to illustrate and have a keen attitude, there will be opportunity to groom you into the role.

You will ideally have:

• Demonstrated capacity in Illustration (Ideally you will have an Illustration or Visual Arts Degree)
• A thorough knowledge of character design and cartoon design ( this is not essential)
• The ability to meet tight submission deadlines (your availability will need to be consistent and this job will keep you very busy!)
• Excellent computer skills: Adobe Creative Suite ( particularly Adobe Illustrator) and Microsoft Office
• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
• Minimum 1-2 Year working in creative industries
• Evidence of ability to meet assigned deadlines

Responsibilities Include:

• Generating characters and cartoons for whiteboard animation
• Importing them into Illustrator and converting graphics into SVG files
• Attending meetings for feedback and updates in submission deadlines
• Administration; keeping a record of work progress and duties directly related to the graphics
