Having made waves throughout the Australian streetwear fashion industry, this immediately recognisable brand is now seeking a talented Garment Technician to join their team based in Heidelberg.This organisation really sets itself apart from the rest not only producing brands that are as high in quality as they are in demand, but also providing its employees with an unreal working environment, opportunities for growth and development and autonomy, as well as responsibility and flexibility to do their job to the best of their ability.
This role will see the successful candidate report directly to the Product & Merchandising Manager as you liaise with 6-7 suppliers based in China, run fit outs for first samples, provide design consultancy and construction advice, as well as mentoring and providing assistance to a design team of 3 as they make adjustments to samples to be returned to China.
Our ideal candidate has had experience working within end to end garment production and design. They have worked across a range of different brands and feel confident liaising with international suppliers and factories. They will have strong leadership qualities and feel right at home training and mentoring junior staff members across all facets of production and design.
Key Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Garment Technician
- Tertiary qualifications in Design/Garment Construction and a strong knowledge of pattern construction/technology and garment construction
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise confidently with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to adapt to changing environments and work well under pressure
- Previous experience working within premium menswear or streetwear brands is preferred but not essential
