This is an excellent opportunity to join a progressive Local Government as an experienced Administrator to undertake vital administrative duties within Council’s Business Unit.

Our client is a well-established Local Government organization who provides high-quality services across the community within Western Sydney.

Description

This role will report into the Manager. The key roles and responsibilities will include:

  • Providing administrative support to the Development Services Division; such as the preparation of reports, agenda, minutes, correspondence, and memorandums
  • Responding to general telephone enquiries relating to council matters
  • Undertaking responsibility for the presentation and preparation of hand outs and corporate documentation
  • Assisting in the preparation and processes of Committee meetings, including the planning of meetings, agenda papers, action sheets and attendance at meetings as required to take live minutes
  • Assisting in the production of correspondence and approvals, ensuring that relevant corporate standards are maintained

Profile

The successful candidate will have:

  • Strong experience working in a similar Local Government environment
  • Relevant business administration qualifications or the equivalent experience in a similar role
  • Ability to coordinate and deliver meeting agenda papers for Council and Committee meetings to a strict schedule in liaison with senior Council officials
  • Proven organisational and meeting planning skills with meeting legislative deadlines
  • Excellent Oral and Written communication skills, with high attention to detail
  • High level knowledge and working experience with corporate systems such as MS office, TRIM
  • Knowledge and understanding of meeting procedures
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
