Due to ongoing success and an increase in customer activity we are looking for a standout, committed and professional Receptionist/ Telephonist to join our team to assist in the high level of customer enquiry. Telstra is an ever-growing telecommunications business which offers our staff an incredibly diverse and challenging career.

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Administration team your role as a Reception/Telephonist is to present a positive first impression of the company over the telephone at the switchboard. This role is suitable for a junior employee or someone who is looking to enter the workforce. As the first point of contact for telephone enquiries, you will deal with a large and diverse range of customers answering questions and diverting calls to the appropriate store or team member. Working from our administration office located in the Elizabeth Shopping Centre, this is a largely autonomous role.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Answer calls to the switchboard and triages them efficiently and accurately to the required store

  • Deliver effective and efficient messages via email and/or telephone

  • Arrange for callbacks or book in appointments for our Customer Advisors to return customer calls

  • General administration tasks

  • Provide coverage and support to the reception desk

Skills and Experience:

  • Accuracy and attention to detail

  • Ability to manage on a busy telephone switchboard

  • Ability to deal with disgruntled customers

  • Ability to learn quickly and use time management with minimal supervision

  • Ability to use computer software

  • Must be professional, outgoing, friendly and confident

PLEASE NOTE: This role is located from our administration office in the Elizabeth Shopping centre and is a largely autonomous role.
