The Client

Our client within a Federal Government agency is seeking a Policy/Secretariat Officer who has experience working in an agile project environment with various deliverables, is proactive and has the capacity to think strategically. This position is based in Canberra.

The Role

Your role will require you to perform a wide range of duties such as administration/secretarial responsibilities and policy analysis.

If successful your duties will include, but aren’t limited to:

• Assist with the preparation of submissions, correspondence, policy and research papers for Ministers and Senior Executive, for both the Commonwealth, State and Territory in national government forums.
• Support the oversight of the secretariat functions of each of the Committees, including managing and delivering each of their meeting schedules and action items.
• Consult with internal and external stakeholders
• Various Secretariat duties.
• Assist with project reporting to the Executive.
• Work across teams to ensure work is happening in a coordinated way.
• Contribute to the development of strategic policy advice on regulation within the Health portfolio, regulatory framework reviews, and the regulatory reform processes;
• Assist with drafting od Agenda papers for Ministerial meetings;
