About the Client
Our client is a highly regarded Indigenous organisation that administers the traditional lands and waters of two separate but related language groups.
The Role
Provide support and assistance to members accessing the Member Support Program
Advocacy and Personal Support to Members - Representation to improve service access and address issues with government agencies and other providers. Support members to develop wellbeing plans which bring in appropriate service providers to address issues and leverage an individual’s strengths to help them meet their aspirations.
This role carries responsibility to actively assist the CEO and other employees to promote the key organisational vision
Responsibilities:
- Data Base Management
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Administrtive Support and Communications
- Reporting - Database management and provision of reports are accurate and timely
Selection Criteria Essential:
• High regard for confidentiality, patience and integrity.
• An understanding of and previous experience working with indigenous communities, preferably within the Pilbara region.
• Genuine appreciation and respect for Aboriginal people and their culture
• Experience in database maintenance & accurate data entry skills
• Experience in undertaking a range of administrative support responsibilities with intermediate level MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong self-management skills/ well organised
• Strong verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Level 5 or equivalent qualification in social services, administration or a related area
• Strong local networks and stakeholder relationships or demonstrated ability to build these quickly

• Experience successfully working with Aboriginal organisations and people
• Ability to problem solve, using own initiative
• Maintaining high standards of behaviour in the work environment.
• Treating all people fairly and consistently and with dignity and respect.
• A desire to support others
