Wickham Farms is a fourth-generation, family-owned business founded in 1972 that today operates growing the best potatoes and onions on farms across Queensland. We specialise in the supply of fresh loose and pre-packed potatoes. We also supply fresh vegetables such as potato, pumpkin and onion products to the manufacturing, wholesale and quick service food industry.
The Role
As Experienced Farm Hand/Tractor Operator you will be responsible for assisting with all facets of ground preparation and inter row cultivation of high quality potatoes and onion at our Killarney Farms.
The position assists with the day to day operations of potato production including planting, irrigating, harvesting, machinery operation and maintenance.
As a Farm Hand you will work within a small team of dedicated workers and take instructions from Farm Managers.
To be successful you will have the following skills & experience:
- Tractor driving experience is essential (ideally on hilly country)
- Rigid (HR) truck license desired but not essential.
- Basic Mechanical knowledge
- Chemical Spray Certificate
- Neat, tidy, reliable
- Previous cropping experience desired but not essential
- Ability to be self-motivated and meet goals
- Strong attention to detail and have passion and pride in the quality of your work
- Work as a team member and adhere to WHS practices
