The Company
Our client is a world-leading agricultural technology company that is launching a new innovative product targeted into the beef and dairy industries worldwide. As the product has advanced through to the commercialization stage the on-farm testing programs are increasing, and there is a need for a research assistant to work with farm staff to implement, monitor and manage on-farm research at company trial property in Queensland.
The Role
This role requires a qualified animal scientist to manage trial work on a small herd of beef cattle which are being used in the ongoing development of digital fencing technology. The focus of the role it to implement, monitor and executive demonstration and research trials on the cattle, and to work with the science team to identify knowledge gaps and to review research protocols. The work will be varied between the company research farm and domestic and international clients.
Requirements to apply for this role
You will need to have the following attributes to apply for this role:
- A degree or equivalent in animal science or related field
- Some experience in designing and conducting research trials is preferred
- Ability in statistical analyses of data and in writing reports
- Experience in cattle management practices
- Experience of the northern beef industry would be highly regarded
- Proven ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
Location
Location is at the company research farm located 20km south of Ipswich, Queensland. Some travel is required so a regional and overseas locations as required.
