About you
You're a capable horse rider who wants to combine your love of riding with your passion for livestock and working cattle. You're willing to learn and want to develop your cattle handling knowledge and skills to be the very best they can be. You're totally committed to working safely, looking after your mates and ensuring the health and welfare of our animals. You're switched on, self-motivated and reliable. You take great pride in what you do, and you do it well. You understand the challenge and personal reward that comes with station life - full days, early starts, working hard and importantly having fun with a close knit team that live and work well together.
Along with the maturity to take care of yourself, a genuine willingness to live and work on a remote and rural cattle station, to be successful you must:
- Be physically fit
- Possess an Australian Drivers Licence (manual)
- Enjoy working with others as well as working alone at times
- Be resilient and self motivated
- Have a commitment to working safely
About the jobs
Most weeks you'll work 5 days and get to have the weekends off. You'll receive expert, hands on training in cattle handling and all aspects of station work including:
- Mustering cattle on horseback & motorbike
- Drafting & yard work
- Horse and livestock care
- Water maintenance
- Fencing & general property care
- Operation & maintenance of station plant, equipment and vehicles.
Comfortable accommodation is provided in a shared cottage/house and you have the freedom and independence to cook for yourselves in the shared kitchen.
Unfortunately we cannot accommodate pets.
As these are permanent ongoing positions, you must also demonstrate the right to work permanently in Australia.
