They are currently seeking a hands-on and experienced Assistant Manager for one of their mixed farming properties in SA’s southeast.
Position
As an integral part of Thomas Foods wider operational team, the Assistant Manager will assist the Farm Manager with the day-to-day operations of this Tintinara based mixed farming enterprise. A key focus for this role will be animal husbandry and general livestock management.
Given the dynamic nature of this role, this is a role well suited to someone with proven experience and aptitude for all facets of livestock and general farming.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning and management of all day-to-day animal husbandry tasks
- Direct and manage staff as required
- Assist with pasture renovation, cropping, irrigated lucerne and grazing management
- Support the Farm Manager to keep clear and concise records
- Assist in creating a WHS&IM culture amongst the team
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a supervisory role or managing a small team
- Demonstrated experience with livestock husbandry
- Pasture renovation, cropping and irrigated hay production experience
- Highly self-motivated and able to work unsupervised
- Sound computer literacy
Qualifications
- Chemcert qualification necessary
- Post-secondary qualifications in agriculture are highly regarded
