About the Job.

This role is to work within a team providing internationally recognised evidence based services. The overall aim to provide the highest standard of evidence based family therapy to children and families in a home based environment and to implement structured family training, intervention and problem solving strategies as well as to identify other mainstream or community based resources that will help support the family in the long term.

Client bases will include children aged from 0 - 17 with particularly complex family situations and the process will involve working through what is a very intensive program from initial assessment, reviewing referral information, engaging all of the participants, providing therapy and intervention and identifying areas of risk, all whilst adhering to the context of the evidence based model process.

Training and support to gain accreditation in the specialist evidence based model will be provided.

Required Qualifications, skills and experience.

To be eligible you must have either a Bachelor’s Degree in either Social Work or Psychology that is recognised in Australia. You must also have:

Previous experience in a therapeutic environment ideally utilising recognised therapy practices such as CBT.

Experience working with vulnerable and at risk children and those from diverse cultural backgrounds

Knowledge and experience of child protection and the protection of children and young people as well as the out of home care system and standards.

Good communication skills and the ability to work well with people from different backgrounds and at different levels.

The ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of the clients.
