What is NewAccess?
NewAccess is developed by beyondblue and managed by Bolton Clarke. NewAccess is an Australian-first program based on the successful UK Improving Access to Psychological Therapies program, which offers guided self-help in the form of low-intensity Cognitive Behaviour Therapy coaching to people with mild depression or anxiety.

NewAccess is a free mental health coaching program, helping people to better cope with anxiety and depression by providing early one-on-one support.
We have an exciting opportunity for an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander NewAccess Coach to be based in Inner Sydney.
To become a NewAccess Coach, you do not need a formal qualification. All you need is a passion for supporting the social and emotional wellbeing needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples!
As an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander NewAccess Coach you will:
- Build your professional development by completing 6 weeks of Low Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) training (this is fully funded by the program)
- Provide one-on-one coaching (via phone, skype or face-to-face) to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who are experiencing mild to moderate anxiety and/or depression
- Offer tools and strategies to encourage people to better manage their symptoms of anxiety and/or depression and improve their social and emotional wellbeing
- Engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members to support program referrals and ongoing community engagement
- Work with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community to make culturally safe improvements to the program
Role specifics:
- Full term contract until April 2019 (with potential for extension).
- Working hours are full time, 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday (flexible hours can be negotiated).
- Ongoing training provided (including paid 6 weeks of Low Intensity CBT training)

About you:
- A willingness to continue professional development and learn new skills
- A passion to deliver culturally appropriate support services
- Experience in working within community based organisations
- Experience in building positive relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities and agencies
- Experience in responding to and managing sensitive situations
- A warm and clear communicator
- Ability to work with empathy, motivation and as part of a team
