Our youth programs create a culturally safe space for young people to have fun and acquire helpful life skills. You will support the safety, wellbeing, resilience and development of at-risk children and young people.

Where you come in:
In this part-time (0.6 FTE), permanent position, based in Hobart you will mentor and support young people, assisting them to achieve their educational, recreational and employment goals. Working across our youth justice programs, you will promote social behaviour and help to prevent juvenile crime. You will be part of our Youth Programs team and report to our Youth Programs Coordinator.
You will make an impact by:
- Building lasting relationships with young people from a variety of backgrounds
- Supporting young people to access services and connect with the community
- Planning and implementing engaging activities
- Building strong stakeholder relationships with program partners

Your understanding and remarkable communication skills will see you nurture engagement from young people, their families and the wider community. You consider yourself a team player, have a ‘can-do’ attitude and demonstrate an infectious enthusiasm for your job.
This role requires:
- A Bachelor's degree in Youth Work (or a related field)
- Ability to work with young people with complex needs
- Strong time management, organisational and record keeping skills
- Knowledge of the youth justice system is desirable
