ProCare Australia is currently seeking experienced Youth Workers to provide support and guidance to child and families.
The role
In this casual position (afternoon and overnight work required), you will be part of a team that delivers programs and services that promote positive approaches to parenting and family wellbeing. You will experienced in the areas of Child Protection, Domestic Violence or Child and Family services. In this role, no day is the same. You will have new opportunities for mutual growth, development, inspiration, a sense of achievement and job satisfaction. To be Successful:
- Domestic Violence experience highly desirable
- Experience working in the Child Protection sector, or Child and Family sector or similar
- Current Working With Children Check (or ability to obtain)
- Minimum Certificate IV level qualification in Youth Work or related field with demonstrated youth work experience
- Demonstrated reporting skills and computer literacy
- Demonstrated knowledge and awareness of trauma and attachment frameworks and ability to implement these in a residential setting
- Youth Workers are required to use their own vehicle and therefore must hold comprehensive car insurance (kilometric allowance paid)
- Must have good availability for evening and weekend shifts
Desirable:
- Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) trained
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Domestic Violence experience
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting families to access the assistance they need, when they need it
- Actively working with and encouraging families to identify and achieve goals
- Collecting and recording data and information for accountability, evaluation and reporting
