About the opportunity


Exciting opportunities exist for Permanent Part-time Support Workers located throughout the Sydney South region.

Reporting directly to the Team Leader for that region, you will be responsible for providing person centred Aged Care and services to senior clients across Sydney South areas, including Rockdale, Hurtsville, Peakhurst and Oatley. 
 


Key responsibilities may include:

  • Undertaking of domestic work, including but not limited to cleaning, vacuuming, dusting, washing and ironing, transportation, shopping, preparation and cooking of meals
  • Supervise or assist with daily hygiene such as showering or bathing
  • Assistance with toileting
  • Provide assistance and support to the client with medication management
  • Mobility support to the client such as assistance with sitting, standing, getting in or out of bed or a vehicle with the use of mechanical aids

Qualifications

  • A completed Certificate III in Aged Care or equivalent qualification (i.e. Individual Support or Disability)
  • Completed CHCCS303A Module Provide Physical assistance with medication
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current Australian driver’s licence and access to your own comprehensive insured vehicle 
  • CHCAC319A Provide support to people living with dementia (desirable)


Skills and Experience

You will be available for shifts that start and finish between 7am – 10pm Monday to Friday. Some weekend work may be required.

Key to the success in this role is the demonstrated ability in the below skills and experience;

  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently
  • Awareness of Work, Health and Safety (WHS) and risk management practices
  • Basic computer literacy skills
  • Good time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Previous experience within an Aged Care or Community Care environment (desirable)
  • Experience using client/data management systems (desirable)
