About the Service
Centrecare Incorporated, in partnership with Wungening Aboriginal Corporation and LAMP, have established an integrated approach to delivering the Department of Communities – Child Protection and Family Support (CPFS) Building Safe and Strong Families: Earlier Intervention and Family Support Strategy (the EIFS Strategy).
The overarching outcome will be to have children living in safe, stable nurturing environments, achieving good life outcomes, protecting from abuse and neglect and to support families and individuals who are at risk of crisis.
These services focuses on the needs of vulnerable Aboriginal children and families experiencing significant disadvantage and adverse consequences. Providing culturally secure, family focused services to support families to minimise risk to children and young people and to divert them from the child protection system.

Wungening is a community controlled organisation delivering counselling, education, advocacy and support services including drug and alcohol, family violence services and accommodation and justice programs.
About Lamp
Lamp Inc was established in August 1996. It's members consist of people living in the community with severe and persistent Mental Health Disorders, their families and carers.
Members meet regularly at a variety of social and recreational activities. In the general community and at any of the Lamp living skills/drop in support centres at Busselton, Margaret River and Bridgetown.
Lamp's aim is to promote personal independence, social well being and community inclusion for consumers. Lamp provides services to consumers within their own homes and in the general community.
The role
To provide assessment, case planning and support for families with medium to low risk factors and family complexities to assist them to build their capacity to safely care for vulnerable and at risk children.
A Few Specifics
- Implement a case management approach to service delivery including strengths based needs assessment and counselling provision to all family members including extended family members.
- Assist at risk families to gain access to mainstream and specialist services as required and requested.
- Respond to and provide crisis intervention supports to families and children as required
Essential
- Recognised tertiary level qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Social Sciences, Counselling and/or related disciplines or demonstrated experience in a similar capacity.
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with other organisations to achieve positive community outcomes.
- Demonstrated experience providing intensive, in-home support to children, young people and families, especially Aboriginal families.
- Demonstrated experience providing strength-based and culturally secure services to children, young people and families.
- Sound therapeutic knowledge and skills.
- Well-developed communication skills, written and verbal.
- Ability to work within a multiagency, multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to work Monday to Friday with the ability to work between 7 am to 8 pm on a rostered basis and provide after hours, on call support.
Desirable
- Understanding of relevant legislation, regulations and external standards that apply to relevant work practices.
- Experience leading teams delivering outreach based services
Required Clearances and Licenses
- National Police Clearance
- Working with Children Check, or ability to obtain one
- Possession of a current ‘C’ class driver’s licence and vehicle
