About the Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen at our Meals on Wheels site in Palmyra, working with our friendly team as a Sous Chef on a Part-Time basis (4 days per week) the successful applicant will support our customers and team by;

• Working as part of a close team with the Head Chef and team to prepare healthy and delicious meals for our customers
• Liaising with other team members regarding food preparation and kitchen operational issues.
• In conjunction with the team; ensuring the provision and maintenance of safe working conditions for all staff and volunteers.
• Assisting to ensure kitchen and food storage areas are kept in a clean and hygienic condition as required by legislation.
• Assisting to ensure the Meals on Wheels service maintains its statutory food safety requirements.
• Assisting with the development of new menus

Essential Criteria:

• Current National Police Clearance with six months or less currency or willingness to apply for and provide one prior to commencing employment;
• Current Australian Drivers Licence with no restrictions;
• Unlimited Rights to work within Australia;
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualifications.
• Knowledge of Food Safety standards
• Current Senior First Aid Certificate
• Experience in bulk cooking
• Ability to direct other staff and volunteers in the absence of the Head Chef to ensure smooth running of the kitchen
• Experience in food ordering and working to a budget
• Staff supervision experience
