Summary of program and its objectives:

The Community Relations division has the primary responsibility for engaging and developing the Brotherhood’s community supporter base. Community Relations is a central function that provides support across the organisation with a focus on developing the numbers, breadth and depth of the Brotherhood’s supporters. This division is made up of four key areas:

  • Marketing and Engagement
  • Volunteer Services
  • Corporate Partnerships
  • Fundraising.

Volunteer Services is a central service providing support to staff to recruit, onboard, manage and engage volunteers. Volunteer Services provides recruitment and onboarding support as well as ensuring compliance of volunteers. In addition, Volunteer Services provides training and leads best practice in volunteer management across the Brotherhood.                                            

Main responsibilities of the role:   

The Volunteer Services Officer is responsible for the registration, compliance and maintaining detailed records of all new and existing volunteers. The Volunteer Services Officer provides first point of contact for external and internal enquiries and records all communications connected with the registration and checks process.

To meet the selection criteria, candidates will require:

  • proven experience in a similar position providing high level customer services and administration support
  • demonstrated skills and experience in maintaining both electronic and hard copy filing systems
  • well-developed computer literacy skills with demonstrated proficiency in the use of MS Office suite of programs including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships and liaise across all levels both internally, externally and with people from diverse backgrounds
  • proven ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team to achieve outcomes
  • ability to identify and resolve problems and make appropriate recommendations
  • well-developed organisational and time management skills with the ability to plan workload, prioritise and meet deadlines
  • understanding of and empathy with the values and ideals of the Brotherhood.

DESIRABLE

  • proven experience in Payroll/HRIS systems/databases.

This is a part-time position working 30 hours per week including Monday & Friday.

Salary will be in the range of $48.530.56 to $52,937.04 pro rata per annum, based on skills and experience plus superannuation. Attractive salary packaging provisions are available to increase take home pay.
