VMCH is seeking an experienced Enrolled Nurse with a passion for Aged Care, to join our dedicated and compassionate team of staff who are focused on individual choice, independence and providing the care people want for their comfort and wellbeing.

About the role:

Villa Maria Catholic Homes is seeking an experienced Enrolled Nurse to join our Wantirna Aged Care team! The Enrolled Nurse is responsible for meeting the direct care needs and preferences of our residents as recorded in the assessments and nursing care plans. Provide supervision and direction of the personal care assistants as directed by the Registered Nurse in charge and/or Residential Services Manager.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide nursing care according to the agreed care plan, professional standards and VMCH policies and procedures
  • Contribute to planning appropriate care for residents, using a range of skills and data gathering techniques including observation, interview, physical examination and measurement
  • Accurately collect, interpret, utilise, monitor and report information regarding the health and functional status of people receiving care to achieve identified health outcomes
  • Develop, monitor and maintain a plan of care in collaboration with the RN, health care team and significant others and within the Enrolled Nurse Scope of Practice, or as directed by the Registered Nurse or Residential Services Manager
  • Responsible for delegating tasks and providing support to aged care workers and students to ensure care is provided in accordance with the care plan and in line with organisational policies, procedures and guidelines

You will have:

  • Qualification (including medication endorsement) as an Enrolled Nurse and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA)
  • Ability to assess Aged Care Residents and formulate Care Plans in collaboration with Registered Nurse, and within Enrolled Nurse Scope of Practice
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, patience, common sense and a strong ethos of client service
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to work as part of a team and support other staff
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work without supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to relate and converse with older people and to have an understanding of, and sensitivity to, the issues related to services to older people Previous experience working in an aged care facility
