About the Company:
An independent statutory agency who support a better life for hundreds of thousands of Australians.

Working within the Community Engagement division that’s responsible for providing clear and regular communications about the scheme to stakeholders, coordinating Agency participation in events and forums and for ensuring regional management are kept abreast of local issues, challenges and successes.

Duties:

  • Develop regional, community and sector engagement relationships
  • Oversee mainstream community and providers innovation and responsiveness to increase flexibility in service delivery options
  • Represent the Agency and contribute to national Agency policy outcomes through participation at local forums and negotiations with external agencies
  • Coordinate regional feedback including developing recommendations for sensitive and complex issues
  • Manage and develop solutions with stakeholders on complex and sensitive polices issues
  • Explain policy changes to the participants, individuals, providers and the community
  • Manage community expectations and ensure engagement with stakeholders from both government and no government sectors
  • Develop and coordinate regional site communication/marketing plan and strategy

Skills & Experience:

  • Have positive contemporary attitude to people with disability and an understanding of disability and its impact of individuals
  • Experience in the delivery of human services, disability management and/or relevant post-secondary qualifications (desirable)
  • Have exemplary leadership qualities in connecting with staff, participants, individuals and support providers
  • Be able to work collaboratively with others to deliver on the objectives of the agency and for building strong links across the region
  • Contribute to the links between the corporate and service delivery arms of the region and be accountable for providing clear and regular communication back to National Office
