Who are we
Australian Red Cross is part of the world’s largest humanitarian organisation. Our aim is to improve the lives of the most vulnerable people in Australia and across our region.

About the role
Lead the “Re-imagining Resilience” project working with Aboriginal communities, Community Partners and sector stakeholders to build evidence, understanding and work practice that supports the resilience of remote Indigenous communities. You will oversee three place based community pilots in the Tiwi Islands, Nauiyu (Daly River) and Galiwin ’ku and bring together the key insights, opportunities for two-way learning, community ownership and cross cultural practice explored in these connected projects. You will ensure that Red Cross facilitates community conversations that wouldn’t otherwise happen, working in local partnerships to nurture and respond to community initiatives and priorities at the right time and in a way that is culturally appropriate and sensitive to complexities in community. Working with a ‘place-based’ approach you will actively support individuals across communities to carry out projects as required.

• Demonstrated ability to facilitate community engagement activities and approaches that help community members, stakeholders and services work together on community issues.
• Demonstrated experience working with diverse people and communities.
• Proven high level of cross cultural competency and skill in cross cultural communication.
• Proven experience in developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with community organisations, government and other stakeholders.
• Understanding of community resilience and the Emergency Management sector would be beneficial.
• A Working with Children check is a mandatory requirement for this role
• Current NT Drivers Licence is required.
