As a Intake Officer you will be the first point of contact for clients/participants and refer/address them to the most appropriate service. You will follow organisational protocol in a professional and timely manner while accurately identify their needs.

As a successful Intake Officer your key responsibilities are:

• Accurately take information of clients and identify their suitability to services on offer
• Phone counselling and assessment on client’s requirements
• Provide concise information to the client regarding services on offer
• Collaboratively work with internal and external stakeholders
• Maintain and record accurate information regarding the client and their requirements

Required relevant experience:

• Previous intake/ call centre experience with a not-for-profit service
• Previous experience in over-the-phone assessment
• Practical experience with child protection or domestic violence programs
• Exceptional phone counselling
• Strong legislative knowledge and practical application of therapeutic assessment

To be considered for the role you must have:

• Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or relevant human services degree
• Exceptional time management and concise communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Prior experience working with individuals affected by child protection or domestic violence related field
• Working with children blue card
• National police check (or willing to)
• Full Driver’s license
